QEI privacy policy

Welcome to Quality Educator Interactive (QEI) and thank you for reading our Privacy Policy.

While we automatically collect information about your computer and internet request, we do not collect any personal information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide the information. We will not sell, rent, loan or share your personal information to anyone.

This policy applies to only the QEI. Other web sites that are linked to QEI have different and separate privacy policies.

Protecting the privacy of our Web site visitors is very important to QEI and the QEI Partners. Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we want to make sure you are informed of the ways in which we may and may not use the information you transmit to us when you visit QEI.

This privacy policy covers three categories and can change without notice:

(1) Information that is collected automatically

  1. The Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer you use to access our Web site. The IP address is a number that uniquely identifies your computer on the Internet. Without this number, our servers would not know where to send back the information you are requesting.
  2. The date and time you "hit" each page on our site.
  3. The page you are requesting.
  4. The Web browser and computer operating system you are using to access our site.
  5. The address of the site or page you came from to our site.

The QEI and its partners may collect other information for the purposes of educational reports. However, these data do not contain any personally identifiable information and will be used for purposes of analyzing Web site traffic, making improvements for visitors to QEI, and analyzing trends in how educators approach PI34 and the PDP.

(2) Information you send to us
We will not collect personally identifiable information from you, other than what you supply to us on a voluntary basis. To make use of certain features on QEI you need to register and to provide some information as part of the PDP and registration process. The information you supply helps us offer you more personalized features, tailoring our site to your interests and making it more useful to you.

If you choose to send us e-mail or fill out a Web-based form, that information is stored in an employee's e-mail or in an on-line database. We use that information to respond to your request or to provide interaction on our Web site.

Supplying such information is entirely voluntary. QEI will not knowingly accept personally identifiable information from visitors under the age of 18 who have not obtained permission from their parents or guardians.

Some of the areas of the site in which we collect such information, the information collected and the purpose for collecting that information are described below:

Subscription to electronic newsletters
There is currently no QEI newsletter. In the event one is established, this section of the Privacy Policy will be updated.

Online Surveys
QEI may occasionally conduct surveys with the option of participating. Apart from information you provide, survey responses are not correlated to any personally identifying information and are used in aggregate form to help us tailor QEI online services.

Online feedback
To send us e-mail through the feedback page, you must enter a name and e-mail address, and of course, your comments. This information is used to respond to your comments. It may also used in aggregate form for statistical purposes.

Membership
Users purchasing membership to QEI will need to provide personal information. This will be used for the purpose of completing the financial transaction and registering the new member. Any credit card number(s) that may be submitted will only be kept to the extent provided by the online payment service/vendor used by the QEI to accept online payments.

Use of Cookies
To help make our sites more responsive to the needs of our visitors, we invoke a standard feature found in browser software, called a "cookie," to assign each visitor a unique, random number, a sort of anonymous user ID that resides on your computer. The cookie doesn't actually identify the visitor, just the computer that a visitor uses to access our site. Unless you voluntarily identify yourself (through registration, for example), we won't know who you are, even if we assign a cookie to your computer. A cookie can't read data stored on your computer.

We use cookies to help us tailor our site to your needs and to deliver a better, more personalized service. We may also use cookies to track the pages on our site visited by our users. We can build a better site if we know which pages our users are visiting and how often.

You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. You do not need to have cookies enabled to use QEI as a guest. However, some QEI features, such as the PDP, on the website will not work properly if you refuse cookies.

(3) Policies for Children
We comply with the Federal Trade Commission 1998 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) (http://www.ftc.gov/ogc/coppa1.htm) QEI is not intended for child use although we acknowledge that certain links from QEI may be used with students by teachers and adult educators. It is the intention of QEI that these sites will only be used with students after the educator has reviewed the sites and approved them for their students' use. QEI cannot accept any responsibility nor any liability for information or policies contained on these sites.

QEI will not knowingly accept personally identifiable information from visitors under the age of 18. If a child sends us an e-mail with a question or comment, we will respond using his or her e-mail address and will not store it for future communications.

Acceptance of the QEI privacy policy
By using this Web site, you signify your agreement to the terms and conditions of this QEI Online Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, do not use this site. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for any changes. Your continued use of QEI following the posting of any changes to these terms shall mean that you have accepted those changes.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
